Symposium and Exhibition

"Occupational Health and Safety in the construction industry – Proceeding from a Problem to a Solution"

Traditionally there have been good political and economic relations between Germany and India. Numerous mutual visits of high rank representatives and their intense work in various Indo-German working groups indicate the fast growing bilateral relations in the fields of economy, science, research, technology as well as social security.

Accordingly, a close cooperation in the field of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) including social protection against work accidents has also developed in the past years. Since 2010 the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV) cooperates with Maharashtra, India’s second largest federal state in terms of population, and with the National Safety Council (NSC), a non-profit institution promoting Occupational Safety and Health in companies in India. The main focus of these joint activities is to improve occupational health and safety conditions and to enhance the mutual exchange of experience and best practice.

The Symposium and Exhibition will take place on 23rd and 24th of September 2014 in India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
